I would very much like to give you an urbane response, but unfortunately I don't know what that is.

I like to use the anonymity of the internet to be an asshole sometimes but the problem is that I am pissing in my own back yard and all you have to do is come to a jonny and the robba show and give me shit in person.

I don't know what I hope to achieve by saying you have sand in your vagina but it isn't to cause you any harm. I think I'm taking all this equally as light-hearted as you so our animosity is now unnecessary.

Just one question - I have tackled my brother about this and he says that "gay" is not meant in a derogatory way - wtf??? Please explain to an old girl what the heck a band being "gay" means.

Agreeing with Carpentry here. I've heard skater kids using the word to mean lame as far back as the late 80's. Its derogatory to homosexuals though, in this case, not really intended.

thats the one. Mesopotamian Goddess of fertility, sometimes talked about as their goddess of love, sex and war. When we put MK1 of the band together we had a song called temple of ishtar, no name and about a week till our first gig. It was a last imnute decision to name the band Ishtar.

Everybody will say something different and it is all up to personal opinion however the worst band in NZ is probably so far under the radar that only them and their mums know about them.
If you have heard of a band indirectly, they can't be that bad because they are getting publicity etc.

Thanks for that, Carpentry. Now at least I can contribute something when the little brother and co talk about these things. I had a good think about who I thought was the "gayest" band in NZ, and honestly, because my emotional response to music (and therefore my taste in music) is affected by whether I like what I know of the artist as a person, in musical terms, my opinion is not too informed. I can't stand the Dance Exponents because I don't like Jordan Luck, and I'm not enamoured of all these gangsta rap type people who dominate the hip hop scene. Not really the opinions of someone who looks at music from a technical point of view, if you get my gist!
