Thats definitely not true Carpentry.

Getting people to LISTEN to your music is about 90% business related.

to get your music played on air, you have to have marketing skills, its still not earning you any money.

to get bigger gigs, you have to have marketing and networking skills.

to get your music known nationwide, you have to have marketing/advertising skills.

once i again i satte "about 90% of music is business related".

Sure if you want no-one to listen to your music, then you can sit at home without any marketing initiative and play it to a few friends once in a while, but youll never get anywhere.

I disagree with you completely.
Business is 100% business related and music is 100% music related.
You don't need money to make or play music or, god forbid, actually have fun playing it.
I understand where you're coming from and I can respect that but only from the point of view of making money selling sound as a product. I write and play all my songs for free, whether somebody is listening to them or not.
Unless of course you are referring to 'music' as the industry, not the actual noises and process of creating them.

that the reson why this music is so popular is because black people feel inclined to listen to it.they want to be just like americans so they start gangs and listen to this shit and if any1 complains they are branded a racist which is why this shit doesnt get closed down
i dont know how people can enjoy a song about making money or daancing a dance or shooting police and white people oh then the most popular ones are the ones which have no meaning or declare the love for themselves i hate it thats my opinion we are all intitled to one and i dont care what you think or say thats how i feel

well I'm in a band and I can't stand all this bullshit about how 'gay' bands are. They're bands and they play music and it doesn't reeeeeally matter if you like it or not. This site should be a celebration of musicality in all it's forms. I know this thread is not the greatest one to say something like that but jealousy and belligerent despondency don't belong anywhere.

I'll wrap up by saying that there are definately some groups/artists that make music I find quite frankly nauseating but I would rather spiel off constructive criticisms or nothing at all.

hey i agree i respect peoples music most of them push themselves to their limits they may not be my cup of tea but their doin their own thing its a democracy and were allowed to

It would be boring if we all said nice stuff, but some of the unsubstantiated claims made by people on this site are just jealousy wrapped up in opinion.

Dei Hamo, Savage and Moreko can rap. Rapping requires a bloody good sense of rhythm and regardless of what the lyrics are saying it all sounds pretty damn good stuck to a well produced sample and beat. I ask you, does half the stuff that rock or metal bands sing about mean anything? Can you actually understand it?

48 May and Zed, not my cup of tea but they are polished and have a good sound.

Gayest bands should go to some of those no talent groups you see at some pubs with whiny guitars, too much fuzz, can’t understand the lyrics cause of the screaming, shit drummers and bass guitarists that can only play the same note in 4/4 per bar. They aren’t keeping it real, they just sound like shit.

All this stuff about keeping it real and all this talent that doesn’t get recognised, it’s a sham. Talent is a small part of it. It’s hard work that gets you in the upper eschelons.

So continue to go on and on about talentless hip hop, over-commercialised pop and such, but I wonder what makes you think you have the goods to actually recognise what makes “good music”.
