Kia ora everyone,
My name is Rongomaiwahine Higgins, I am from Tuhoe(Ruatoki), Rongomaiwahine(Mahia) and Ngati Kanohi(Whangara).
I used to be based in Wellington now i am currently studying at Otago University in Dunedin.
The style of music i do is soul music, a lot of people ask me “What is Soul Music?” I define this by saying
“Whenever you have overcome or gone through something, put it on a piece of paper and then put a tune to it, your soul is now singing. Therefore, your soul music has just been produced, it can range from many genre's although overall it is just your soul.”
I am looking forward to meeting people who are passionate about their music. I am also looking for band members who play soul and a bit of Jazz. I also enjoy playing some pop but not all the time as it has become too mainstream.
I have been singing since i was about five, if you would like to hear me check out my gig, at the moment still are in Dunedin.
