Luger Boa

Bio

Following the decision by New Zealands garage rock behemoth The D4 to go on extended hiatus, vocalist and guitarist Jimmy Christmas retreated into the wilds of Auckland's Central City and began work on a strange new project. At a secret location deep in Kingsland, he surrounded himself with the fragments and souvenirs of many years playing to and with the denizens of rock n roll's global underbelly, and began to write songs of confusion, resolution, exploration and evolution. In a studio that echoed the feverish workings of an exploding consciousness, he gathered together the SOUNDS he needed, and the words he believed made sense. He exited the lair only to cross the boiling morass of the Tasman Sea, to find like minds that leaked insanity, and returned to his HQ with their pulsating offsprings, which he then inserted into the heart of the experiment. From there, it was only a matter of time before he gave it life, and named it Luger Boa!

2009 saw the release of Luger Boa's debut long player 'Mutate or Die' which was critically acclaimed and featured massive radio hits 'What is Real?', 'I Wanna Girlfriend' and 'On My Mind' - the Rock Radio Song of the Year. Quickly known for incendiary live shows, In their short existance the band have played to countless thousands across the country alongside the like of Shihad, The Mint Chicks, The Living End, Airbourne, The Charlatans and Head Like A Hole, from packed clubs to arenas, as main support for the Kings Of Leon. Earlier this year Luger Boa headlined the sold out State Of Rock nationwide tour, where they debuted the new material from the forthcoming album 'New Hot Nights'.

The first single 'Lazy' is already a certified radio hit, and second salvo 'Paralyzed' is already racing up the charts. There is much more to come from the album, recorded in Auckland and Melbourne, and mixed by Mark Needham in LA, and Andy Baldwin in NYC.

LUGER BOA
MUTATE OR DIE OUT 24 NOVEMBER
SURVEILLANCE REVEALS NEW INFORMATION ON ‘WHAT IS REAL’

From gathering and analysing operative information we now know the following - The entity known as LUGER BOA was instigated by one ‘Jimmy Christmas', previously brought to our attention through his involvement with as a front man for ‘The D4' (see FOOTNOTE).

After a prolonged disappearance from view rumours circulated that Christmas was holed up in an unknown location working on a mysterious new project. Secrecy surrounding the experiments prevented a clear idea of what he had in mind, however sources reported sinister sightings in both the heart of Auckland, New Zealand, and on the streets of Melbourne, Australia. It is through this period he is known to have consorted with one Barry Palmer, a producer/guitarist also well known our organization. (see HUNTERS & COLLECTORS and DEAD STAR. More information available).

It became apparent that they were in the process of recording an ‘album', a theory confirmed by the sighting of known bass player ‘Karl Kippenberger' (see SHIHAD) and subversive drummer ‘Manny Bourakis' (see GALVATRONS) converging on a location previously known as a premises used for the recording of ‘music'. Their involvement seriously suggested that something unpredictable and potentially threatening was about to occur.

Undercover operations were able to procure samples of the ‘album' for analysis, the results of which suggest strong traces of ‘rock and roll', although not in a form previously detected. Essences of ‘Bowie' were found to be mixed with ‘T-Rex', ‘Kiss', ‘the Clash' and even trace elements of ‘The War of the Worlds'. The main compound however, is of unknown origin and considered to be previously undiscovered. Conclusions from this research suggest that whatever it is, it is highly unstable and can only be the product of a deranged mind.

Heightened investigations revealed that the completed ‘album', now referred to by the cabal as ‘MUTATE OR DIE' was then sent offshore allegedly for 'mixing' and was traced to the premises of ‘Mark Needham' (known MIX ENGINEER FOR FLEETWOOD MAC/THE KILLERS/HOT HOT HEAT) in Los Angeles USA. Needham's involvement with ‘MUTATE OR DIE' has subsequently rendered an already unstable product completely inflammable. Christmas is believed to have returned to his NZ lair to prepare and has been observed recruiting highly skilled and extremely unpredictable members to form the band known as LUGER BOA. Phone records have unearthed a plan to release the ‘album' and to tour the band through an unwitting and unsuspecting world. It is firmly believed that the wheels are already in motion, momentum is gathering, and that nothing will ever be the same.

FURTHER OBSERVATION RECOMMENDED.

AGENCY CONCLUSIONS SUGGEST ONLY COURSE OF ACTION IS TO JOIN THE REVOLUTION.
