Devilskin - Q & A with Nail Vincent from Devilskin

11 Apr 2017 // An interview by jdiddynz

I briefly caught up with Devilskin guitarist Nail Vincent after Devilskin's London at Underworld on 22/03/17 for a cheeky Q & A session, here’s what went down:

1. How did you enjoy the show tonight?

It was a great show. We had a blast, it was so awesome to see some familiar faces from last time as well as some new ones.

2. How has the tour been going so far?

The tour has been going great, we have been really looking forward to getting back to the UK  and this time around we've managed to get to some different towns as well which has been nice. The UK crowds have been really receptive to us.

3. Any stand out moments?

Yeah having a noisy crowd right here in London chanting for an encore is a pretty cool moment. The crowds at home chant for us and that’s so awesome but to hear it on the other side of the world is something else.

4. Who have been the stand out support bands?

Eva Plays Dead have been on tour with us and have been nothing short of professional. Everyone in the band has serious chops and they have smashed it every night.

5. Favourite venue so far?

I would have to say the O2 Academy in Birmingham.

6. You guys have been spending a lot of time in the tour van what do you do to keep yourselves sane?

Honestly trying to catch up on some sleep takes priority. It’s a matter of catching up when you can. We also listen to music and watch the occasional movie

7. How have the new songs from Be Like the River gone down with audiences?

Really good. It’s been awesome to see people singing the words back to you, even in Germany we were getting people singing along to the songs, such a great feeling!

8. What's next for Devilskin?

Next up for us is to concentrate on some song writing and begin the process for the next record, We're looking forward to sitting down together and coming up with some new material. It’s always an exciting time for us. We also have a couple of shows coming up in Ireland with Airbourne as well as performing at Download festival.

9. What's in your pockets right now?

Lint.

10. If you were a sausage what flavour would you be?

A chilli chorizo.

Fresh off the back of their latest EP New Ink and the release of their killer new track and video Simulate You, I had the pleasure of catching up with Waka and Kevi Metal from Tokyo Rock Machine at my local in Putney which meant good beers and good banter. Imagine the love child of Foreigner and Fall Out Boy raised by a pack of wolves with a penchant for 80’s metal riffs the TRM sound is uncompromisingly rock.
