Here are the highlights from the last Music Industry News bulletin, if you would like to see the full bulletin, flick through an email and I'll send it your way.

1. CokeTunes Music Fund

The CokeTunes Music Fund is now open for applications. The grants from this will be used to fund initiatives as varied as assisting with the purchase of band equipment, artist makeovers, assistance with touring costs and musical training.

Satellite Media (producers of the Rip It Up magazine, Top of the Pops, Back2Basics magazine and Coke New Releases/Countdown) will facilitate the application of the grants, and winners of each round will be chosen by an expert collective of music industry representatives.

The goal of the Fund is to support the development of New Zealand music and musicians by providing artists with the financial assistance needed to advance their careers.

All applications must be received by December 1, 2005 and the winner/s will be announced on December 7.

Funding will be awarded to the applicant(s) who submit the most innovative and effective proposal for use of the funds. This could potentially include using the funds to cover costs of recording, touring, publicity & promotion, or music video production. Applicants are encouraged to think outside the norm. More than one winner may be selected per round.
