Mountains Of Murray

Bio

Mountains Of Murray are a dirty-ass rock band from Christchurch. Formed in the hot summer nights of 1997, this trio plays a distinctive flavour of unorthodox rock consisting of ear-piercing guitar voodoo and a bowel moving rhythm section.

Starring Harley Williams on bass and vocals, Denver Grenell on drums and Gooble on guitar, the band have recorded their debut EP called 'Vibrating Jelly Emerald Probe' on Muzzer Records. The seven song EP covers various topics such as freedom, self-pleasure and mould and features the vocal stylings of eight month old Arabella and scratching by DJ Dredford. The EP was recorded at Blast Studios in Christchurch and engineered by Guy Benfield.

Mountains Of Murray feature on the Christchurch music compilation 'Brat', with a track from their CD called 'Beefcake'. They also have a track on the 'Brat 2' CD called 'Les Mosquitos'.

Apart from gigging regularly at the Dux de Lux in Christchurch, the band has also played in Golden Bay, Nelson and the Owen River Music festival.

Band Members:
Harley Williams (bass, vocals)
Denver Grenell (drums)
Gooble (guitar)
