Broken Avenue is a 5 piece band spawning from Auckland. Recently formed in early May 2010, the band appeared live for the very first time as local support for US bands Saosin and Bless The Fall for their NZ show, June 9th.

This energetic new band is determined to showcase themselves as musicians, songwriters and performers. The group explains: "We have a distinctive approach to writing heavy music with a solid mixture of melodic hooks, pop punk riffs, energetic beats and a twist of modern metalcore breakdowns." Broken Avenue look set to create a new hype in the local scene as well as providing a new sound which will encompass the audience's total listening experience.

With all members having been in several previously successful local bands over the last decade, accompanied with national radio & television slots, live performance and the local music industry is a well understood concept. The band thrives on its ability to perform, showcasing energy at epic proportions and frequent on-stage antics. All the members of Broken Avenue have toured New Zealand countless times and embarked on journey's to Australia's East Coast to share some of New Zealand's finest tunes.

The quintet is currently putting the hours in the studio writing new material and recording their first self-titled EP. In September 2010, Broken Avenue will be touring NZ in support of Scary Kids Scaring Kids on their final farewell tour. Shows in Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch.
