Mary have performed at the Big Day Out, Sweetwaters and Orientation. They have supported acts such as Supergrass, Catatonia, The Lemonheads, Bare Naked Ladies, Spiderbait, Blink 182, Tonic, Guitarwolf and The 5,6,7,8's.
They have also performed alongside other New Zealand artists such as HLAH, The Feelers, Garageland, The Stereo Bus, Tadpole, The Exponents, Hello Sailor, Chris Knox, Stellar* and Fur Patrol.
Their sugary pop hits sound good enough to eat! Recorded on a small budget at Frisbee in Auckland, and mastered at KOG. Mary did it themselves when they released and funded their album 'Maryland' on their own record label – Panty Records, following on from the success of their previous EP releases of 'Bigger' in 1998 and 'Golden Halo' in 1999.
Mary has enjoyed some commercial success. Hits such as 'Matt', 'Golden Halo', 'Someone Else', and 'Bigger' have already had their taste-tests on Auckland radio stations such as Hauraki, bFM, 96.1 (rock format) and also supported on Channel Z, the Edge, The Most FM New Plymouth and student radio. Their songs have also been regularly played by Triple Z Brisbane for Mary’s growing audience across the Tasman.
