Resonate - RESONATE – A Lasting Presence

When a band takes to a stage, audiences expect a good show which provides entertainment for all those involved. How many times have you seen a band take to a stage, fail to live up to your expectations?
Resonate – A young local band made up of four members; Scott, Simon, Matt and Aidan. Together, these musicians collaborate to create a blend of hard rock, melodic riffs and the ever-present catchy hooks which draw in audiences from every direction. Since seeing Incubus play in March of 2004, I have not been excited by a band taking the stage in such a fashion – until now. Although a performance at the North Shore heats of the CokeSmokeFreeRockquest in 2004 does not do such a band justice, this is the foundation for many performances to come. Dressed up in Rolling Stone styled clothes, Resonate took the stage. As the opening riff began sounding through the thundering P.A system, filling the hall, the audience sat silent. On edge. Resonate delivered an unpredictable performance full of stage energy, command and enough suspense to fill a horror movie. Better described as an aural-orgasm, Resonate took control of the audience.
“Catchy”. “Upbeat”. “Rocky”. “Different”. These four words describe Resonate’s first single “Not Givin’ Up”, something new and fresh, produced by up and coming talent. This provides an aurally stimulating hook and captures audiences with its melodic vocal line. Does this young band fail to live up to audience’s expectations? Not in the slightest. Many bands consist of average, un-committed musicians who lack passion and drive. Not Resonate. Still only a young band of 5 months, Resonate have already accomplished so much. Already, this talented group have been approached by outfits to produce demo tapes.
Whether you’re watching Resonate perform, or listening to Resonate’s demos, one thing can be certain. A lasting effect shall be felt, and a presence left by these budding musicians, as they move one step closer every time to their musical domination. Do Resonate provide entertainment for all? In this reviewer’s opinion – Yes, They do.

About Resonate
In February 2004, they converged, and an extraordinary reaction occurred where a melodic, creative, rocky and explosive product was formed. As a band they combined their talents and lifted themselves to higher places, where original ideas flowed naturally.
They formed an unbreakable bond, emitting soaring vocal lines, colossal riffs, dynamic drum beats blended with thumping bass licks. Resonate’s appeal is shown in their ability to leave listeners speechless.
