Flying Man are proud to share their sophomore single Under The Stars, an imagined celebrity life dreamt up by two young lovers which will have you “humming along hours after you’ve stopped listening”.

Featuring Lara Rose from highly acclaimed Dunedin folk duo Tall Folk, Under The Stars paints a picture of wealth and status dreamt up by a young couple while they promise to maintain their love for each other by continuing their current relationship traditions. Through their star studded lifestyles they’ll still frequent local karaoke bars and sleep Under The Stars.

Flying Man is the stage name of Dunedin based Irish-born live-looping guitarist and singer/songwriter Alan Ned Gray. Flying Man’s song-writings sit in the electroacoustic realm - playing programmed beats, live looping and layered harmonies. Haunting melodies and infectious rhythms coupled with lyrics which tell stories from snapshots in time.

Alan has been writing music since he was 14 and was a member of Irish band Lucas who had a top 40 single in the Irish charts as well as successful tours of the US East Coast where they also recorded their debut album with famed multi grammy nominated Rob Fraboni.

Flying Man released his “thought provoking and honest, but ultimately very catchy” debut solo single Since You’ve Been Gone to rave reviews and over 30,000 plays on Spotify and has been slowly been building up a following while gigging around the New Zealand.

Flying Man has been promoting the upcoming release of Under The Stars with a Tour of New Zealand’s South Island and Wellington which will culminate with a single release show on Saturday 28th of January accompanied on the night by Ollie Crooks, Bo & The Constrictors and The Saltones. This gig shall be followed up by a performance at The Black Seeds headlined South Island festival Lobofest.
