i love six feet under, probably my fave death metal band. i espetially like it how they show you their influences with gravyard classics. king have you heard their version of "war machine" by kiss? i think that has to be the best death metal cover of an old rock song ever.

np: metallica - the day that never comes (new single off death magnetic) hmmm intresting song. marked improvment on their last album, beginning is very 'load' the middle part of the song kinda sucks but the last part of the song is a pretty mean jam by them with some ripping leads. overall i like it, and considering its their radio single im really looking forward to what else will be on the album.

Eh, I've always hated Kiss, and I never liked 6 Feet Under. Sloppy, uninspired and dull. But hey, to each their own Very Happy

I'm just looking for that new Metallica track now... not holding my breath. They're my favourite band eeeeever, I'll listen to ANYTHING with James Hetfield on it.

It irks me that Lars has lost the love for his instrument. He went from innovative to pathetic. He's even admitted he's lost interest in drumming Mad

First listen of the new Metallica single...

Fade to Black II

Uninspired. The riffs just don't gel with each other. The produciton sucks. The drumming is awful. I can hear that god-awful "compression" in the production, which has sucked whatever life out of the song that was left. Sad

i'vre listened to it sevral times now and im still unsure, i definatly like the first minute or two then it kinda drops off the map and picks up bout 4 minutes later but it seems forced and doesn't flow well. i still like it but it aint great thats for sure. some good lead stuff but nothing 'epic'. keeping in mind that this is their radio hit and meant for the masses. im still gonna get the album and hope there are some better tracks on there (i think there will be)

np: nirvana - on a plane (live and unplugged)

oh yea and the drums do suck, i don't understand how lars isn't improving after all these years and actually going downhill. i wish he would add more toms in there. every time i see clips of him live latley it seems his kit is getting smaller and smaller. i mean the drumming on kill em all and ride the lighting were flawless. i should invent a time machine and bring 20 year old lars here to tutor present lars.

There's also follow up to that called "Sexoturica", which has Sepultura's Andreas Kisser on guitar, it's more punk/hardcore influenced.

Both are only demo quality. They're floating about the internet.

Newstead sings a bit like Kirk Windstein on those recordings.

James is, um, better, but still tired sounding.

I can picture little Lars' stumpy wee arms flying about with his tongue in the corner of his mouth, frantically trying to keep up... christ he sounds sloppy on the fast stuff, the kick pattern is pretty wonky.

The song itself though, is pretty goddamn AWESOME. I wish they used Analogue recording as opposed to this disgustingly FLAT sounding digital production. It's ruining so much modern music Mad Mad Mad
