Incursa
Bio
Incursa, meaning in Latin to "Strike Against", are a bunch of strapping young lads with an ambition to do good things.
Incursa was formed in late 2002 as a four-piece, and in 2004 grew to become a five-piece to take out 1st place in the 2004 Coke SmokeFree RockQuest.
With every member of Incursa being influenced with different genres of music, they do not feel restrained in limiting themselves to one specific theme. Playing live is definitely a forte of Incursa's, they really enjoy playing to an audience, drummer Jordan says "The crowd really bring the best out of us".

My m8 Shyam probably disagrees but who cares!  Anyway whens the next gig im keen to go along! Just so long Graham doesnt try and rape anything again (yea he told me about the lungfish I know it didnt happen...still!) HEY! its connie.... everyday i do wonder why rivalstate got no where in the finals but hey! you's won launch pad round 4 , i claim to be incursa's no#1 fan so if any one robs that from me  watch out! anyways the only people i congratulated from incursa were dave and graham so if any of the other incursa boys are reading CONGRATS!! its been 2 months and a couple of weeks since that big night.. and i watch my rockquest tape practically everyday to see incursa and rivalstate just doing their stuff! anyways see you guys around... im coming to rshq tomorrow..... |

And after looking back at the semi-finals doco of the rockquest series i am left wondering why hutt-valley based band 'slo-dance' didnt make it through to the national final. I think they would have been a place if they had been through, big ups to rival state for coming to our gig the other night in grey lynn, much respect. |

Past winners of the NZ On Air/Edge Radio Airplay Award include Wanganui band, The Have and Christchurch rockers, Falter. This year's winner is a band called Incursa from St Peter's College in Auckland. Expect to hear Incursa making incursions on The Edge airwaves soon. |
