Taylor Roche - Single Review: day&night

18 Aug 2022 // A review by Corinne Rutherford

Auckland based Pop/RnB artist and TikTok personality Taylor Roche has just dropped his latest catchy offering day&night. Described as "rebellious 80's synth pop" this is an upbeat track detailing a broken relationship hanging by a thread.

day&night is an engaging track which launches straight into a buoyant beat, immediately unveiling a clean fresh sound.

Taylor Roche has a vocal range reminiscent of the 90's Boy Band sound, appealing to a youthful energetic audience.

This is well produced track by key collaborator Joel Jones and co-written with Jake Schrodski of LA Women.

The cheerful bright sound is a contrast to the heartfelt lyrics describing a feeling of the gravitational pull towards someone in a destructive relationship. It is a song about love, heartbreak and internal struggle good enough to dance to. Snappy and appealing day&night immortalises powerful feelings wrapped in a scrumptious honeyed coating of pop reminiscent of the early 1990's.

Roche has an impressive background in music and performance, this is echoed in this slick, energetic track. Heartbreak synth pop at its finest.

Rating: ( 4 / 5 )
