Emily Fairlight is thrilled to announce a nationwide tour in celebration of her sophomore album, Mother of Gloom, due for release on May 4th.
The 5-date tour will take her from Dunedin to Leigh with her immensely talented band, made up of Andrew Bain (Fur Patrol), Ben Cole (The Datsuns), and special guest Dick Whyte.
Based in Wellington, Emily is an indie-folk songwriter, performer and poet, with a rare talent for capturing stories and moods in their very essence, delivering them with a voice that ranges from the most intimate of whispers to the strongest of wails. She describes her own music style as introspective alternative folk, written with a rock 'n' roll heart.
“Fairlight’s songwriting often eschewed the hefty word counts of many folk songs, opting instead for simple yet effective repeated lines... The backing band played simply and solidly, and the overall result was a country-influenced folk sound I would happily soak in for the length of a fuller set.” - Ruben Mita, The 13th Floor
$15 pre-sales will be available from Under The Radar from Thursday 29th of March. See tour dates and support acts below:
