World Renowned Voice Coach Holds Seminar At NZMIC
Posted: Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:20 pm
Cheryl McLeay has worked as a voice coach for some of the biggest names in the international music industry, with a current roster of local artists that includes the likes of Op Shop, Steriogram, Eight, Zed, Elemeno P, and Blindspott.

Having studied voice at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Cheryl continued studying Laryngeal Biomechanics at the S.D.S. School of Music, gaining a better insight into the benefits of voice building by physical exercise.

All too few teachers understand this vital point and, as a result, many promising voices are ruined every year because they lack the necessary foundation of properly developed and controlled vocal muscles. That is why you hear so many famous singers and speakers losing their voices comparatively early in life.

Cheryl will explain why and how a voice must be balanced, not simply trained. For only by building up the strength and by gaining full balanced control of the vocal muscles, can a real voice be developed, a voice of wide range, full tones, power and beauty.

You will learn to sing through understanding the biological workings of the Larynx and the separate mechanisms that create the dynamics of the human voice.

Seminar details:

10:00am – 1:00pm: First session
1:00pm – 2:00pm: Lunch
