The MUSIC EXPO sound:vision 2004 this Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 13-15. at SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre

Spanning three days and two exhibition floors, with more than sixty music industry companies exhibiting, The MUSIC EXPO is an excellent reflection of the climate of our burgeoning musical and creative industries.

Showcasing the best in quality hi-fi, home theatre, musical instruments, DJ equipment, home recording and screen technologies, there are workshops, demonstrations, and live entertainment all weekend from Kiwi talent including, Nat Rose, Polly Prior, Sarah Jane Auva¹a, Dave McArtney with Graham Brazier and international guitar clinician Coop Deville.

See and hear exclusive product launches and premieres, with exotic displays including a German made stereo system worth over $300K!

Noteworthy NZ products are also on display - with the unveiling of a new Crowther Audio guitar pedal, the Double Hotcake. (The original Hotcake by Crowther was crowned OEGuitarist Choice¹ in UK Guitarist Magazine, June 2004). Also showcasing our own guitar technology, Wellington-based Red Witch Analog Pedals will show a range that is already being used by international music professionals, including Eddie Kramer producer/engineer for the Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana and Frank Zappa.

In the DJ department Pioneer launches their new DVJX1 - an audio/visual console that allows DJs to blend and beat match visuals with music. The revolutionary Kiwis who developed the internationally acclaimed OEPitch OEn¹ Time¹ software, Serato will show off their groundbreaking new product OEScratch Live¹ which will be demonstrated by a celebrity guest DJ.

Alongside some of the finest hi-fi available, the latest in professional and home screen technologies on show will include projection screens that can be used in daylight, and a unique double-sided projection screen.

Supportive and educational NZ music organisations will also have a presence at The MUSIC EXPO, with NZ On Air, NZMIC, IMNZ, APRA, SOUNZ, Creative New Zealand, NZ Musician, SAE And MAINZ all present. Industry professionals will be available all weekend to dish out some sound advice.

sound:vision 2004 is the third bi-annual MUSIC EXPO and the first public event to be staged in the new SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre.

Friday August 13, 11am-7pm, Saturday and Sunday August 14-15, 10am - 6pm. $10 pp, or $25 family pass.
