It has been a dream of label founder and Managing Director Peter Rishworth to set up R Records for over 5 years. The company’s philosophy is to provide a nurturing environment for talented artists who wish to create records with maximum freedom and support.

We are a brand new record label; as such we are currently looking to sign artists to create a local catalogue and a release schedule for the next six months. (This is a rare and exciting situation for a label to be in!)

This is a call to any New Zealand bands, musicians, or composers, to send us your demos!

R Records has a talented and experienced team and we are very excited about releasing some of New Zealand’s extraordinary music!

We plan to focus on the international success of our individual artists, to actively promote their music all over the world, specifically using our contacts in Los Angeles. Of course we will distribute and promote within New Zealand, and will assist with touring arrangements as required.

In essence we want to work with like-minded artists who are making records we love, over a range of genres, and will do all we can to ensure artistic and commercial success.

So if you have an act or recording that deserves attention, let us know!
