FilmSouth in Christchurch are looking for local musicians who are willing to have their original music used on a DVD.

It is a great promotional opportunity for them as the DVD will be shown and distributed at high profile festivals and film markets such as Venice and Cannes. You will receive a credit and your email address (or web site link) will be included on the DVD.

The DVD is being made for the regional film office, Film South, and will used to promote Canterbury and West Coast film locations around the globe. It will contain a mixture of glamorous film footage and spectacular location images which we would like to set to locally produced music. A 'show reel' section will highlight the many feature films that have been shot here (Lord of the Rings, Perfect Strangers, Vertical Limit, Frighteners, Snakeskin, etc), plus show the numerous television programmes, commercials and music clips that have been made locally. There will be eight location video clips also, and we would like each one to have a different style (e.g. something funky for the 'urban architecture' video, something mellow for 'native forests'.

So if you have written and recorded something you think would be a suitable soundtrack for this type of project, please email Emily Anderson at [email protected] before next Thursday, March 12th.
