The alcohol free venue for wellingtons young musicians and music lovers is pleased to present three entertaining, interactive, inspiring and informative workshops from local Music Industry Personalities. Their stories will be presented with performance, photos and film footage and will provide invaluable insight and knowledge for anyone interested in the music industry. Don't miss these exciting opportunities!! Each workshop costs $10 and refreshments will be available.

An Electrifying Cherry Gemston Musical Workshop

The Musical live wire Cherry Gemstone presents her life and times as a musician, get the real life story on the enduring woman creating waves of electricity through this nation, gearing up to take it beyond the skies limits!
Come along and interact and enjoy a workshop including performance, instruction in voice, guitar and creative performance presented by the musical velocity that is Cherry Gemstone - with music spanning Rock to Classical, she is truly amazing!

Blink

Over the last three years Wellington music fiend and all ages promoter Blink has established his label as one of the most important in the country. Easily the most prolific label in New Zealand, Blink has released 30+ CDs, 3 DVD's, published 25 issues of the underground music magazine "A Low Hum" and presented the 3 day music festival "Camp A Low Hum" in February 07, which featured 50 bands and which Real Groove Magazine called "the best music festival of the summer". The Critic in Dunedin called it "Singularly the best music festival you could never imagine", ranking it the number one festival of the summer, above Big Day Out.

In 05 Blink published the first issue of a series called "Local Knowledge". These free guides are given to bands to help them plan their first tours and shows around New Zealand, with no-bullshit advice on how to put together a tour, many bands use the guides.

Blink will cover many areas of the industry such as releasing your first recordings, how the industry works, planning shows and tours and how to make things happen for you and your band. Following Blinks workshop local all agers Hecktik Runz will perform.

Thomas Goss director of 'The School of Rock' Wellington and 'Rock Camp'
shares essential information for performers and recording artists at the beginning of their careers. Thomas's workshop will include personal history, inside info and a birds eye perspective of how to live a musical life.
