Persimmon, jangle-pop darlings from humble Te Papaioea, return with their debut album Tomorrow Morning slated for release in mid-2024.

Following their successful SRN charting singles at the end of 2020, Persimmon have sustained a regular schedule of local performances, becoming a favourite opener for touring bands. They were featured on the SRN award-nominated Felt Cute, Might Delete compilation. RadioControl Breakfast Host Kupe affectionately describes them as “cute indie rock for the people”.

True Crime is the first single from the upcoming debut album. It pairs upbeat jangle guitars with a nostalgic reflection on a memorable holiday and the realities of parenting. It will be released on March 27, 2024.

Persimmon formed when principal songwriter Austin Boyle returned to Aotearoa after years living and playing music in Melbourne, bringing influence from the contemporary garage pop scene and collaborating with local multi-instrumentalists. Persimmon produce catchy indie pop songs characterised by Kiwi accents delivering slice-of-life lyrical accounts supported by harmonies and crisp clean guitars.
