As Colour Fades started off like every other young band: a group of friends with an idea and a dream. A collaboration of young musicians from different backgrounds and cultures, getting together and writing music they feel is ideal to their musical tastes.
As Colour Fades is a 5 piece Metal core/ (Post) Hardcore band from New Zealand. Conin B (Vox), Jamie C (Guitar), Jerr C (Guitar), Rahul C (Bass), Sam S (Drums). They were group of high school students with a fascination and addiction to music; however, not specifically metal and hardcore. Their musical backgrounds include Jazz Combo’s, Big Bands and Choirs. In 2009 they decided to enter into the NZ nationwide high school event SmokeFree Rockquest. Although the show went terribly for them, they decided to pursue the potential As Colour Fades had, not knowing what 2010 had in store for As Colour Fades.
In 2010 As Colour Fades established a respected and well-known name in the Auckland Metalcore/Hardcore scene. They had travelled around to big cities, playing with big names such as: Of Blackest Oceans, Every Man For Himself, The Mark Of Man, Broken Avenue, Cast Them To Ruin, East Of Eden and international act Scary Kids Scaring Kids on the Final Nightmare Tour. Later that year they released merchandise and a music video for the song ‘Holding On’. They have been featured on a radio stations and newspapers. In early 2011 they released there long awaited ‘As Colour Fades Demo’ to the public (recorded @ ZEAL with the sound engineer Luke Cooper) and is in the process of writing the EP.
As Colour Fades is a band with members who promote good morals and values. They believe that music is a way to express an experience and/or opinion. They do not condone smoking, excessive drinking or the use of illegal substances but encourage leading a life without it.
“We aren't straight edge, and we aren't a band that preaches or promotes being straight-edge. We have just had a lot of friends in the past that went through the same phase the youth today is going through, and some of the outcomes we’ve seen is life changing. If you do that stuff, cool, but no thanks aye.”
The band is a group of casual dudes who love writing and listening to music. Overtime both the music and band has changed and is still evolving.
