Bloodletting is a 5-piece metal band with fuckwit members from Auckland with a huge variety of influences ranging from thrash to death metal.
Originally a 4-piece founded by Josh Hughes (bassist) and Martin Kemble (drums), Bloodletting then recruited Shane McHale on guitars and good friend Chris Mincher on vocals.
After the recording of their first EP, 'ONE IN THE BREECH', Chris was replaced by Nick Graham (also in LEADER TO RUIN), and already Bloodletting's sound changed to be more melodic thrash. They then decided to recruit a second guitarist, and good friend and shredder Owen Woodward (also in COPROPHAGIA) was an obvious choice.
They began to gig frequently with bands such as Sinate, 8 Foot Sativa, Human, Malevolence, Relentless Attrition, Dawn of Azazel and Ulcerate. Martin Kemble then decided to leave the band and was soon after he was replaced by Allan McLachlan (also in NULLIFIER).
Shane McHale soon after decided to leave the band, leaving the band as a 4-piece once again. Bloodletting are still gigging frequently, and are in the process of making their debut album 'THE DEVILS RAPTURE' set for release at the end 2007.
