The Hollow Grinders

Bio

The Hollow Grinders know that there's a lot more to rock n' roll than simply putting the phrase in your band's name, or squawking it at the audience every ten seconds. They're not just a bunch of spotty anoraks recycling their Stooges collection - they're the real thing. Authentic sleazy, pub-hardened old fucks with authentic maturity and commitment problems pumping out a varied and electrifying set of original surf tunes, weaned on the nutritious smorgasbord that is fifty years of rock n' roll history.

The band is led from the front by the twanging tones of founder and guitarist Eddie Hodad, is tempered by the hot licks of the legendary axeman Otis Uh!, and rests on the rock-solid foundation of veteran bass player Hank 'Family Man' Special and deranged skinsman Dirk Thrust. The group operates from the small New Zealand surfing community of Claudelands Beach, via the enigmatic Claudelands Beach Boardriders' Club (1996) Inc.

Band Members:
Eddie 'Boom Boom' Hodad (guitar)
Otis Uh! (guitar)
Hank 'Family Man' Special (bass)
Dirk 'Play Misty For Me' Thrust (drums)
