Kingrow were a duo based in Christchurch. Both went to the same high school, and had been writing together ever since.
Duckman is also known as electronic artist, n-Somnia, and was the main guy behind the computer-generated sound of Kingrow. He also wrote lyrics and played guitar.
Weasel was Duckman's former high school buddy, with whom he'd been writing with since 1996. Weasel was the main man behind the band's Playstation 2 sound. He also wrote lyrics.
Even though the duo had been writing together for a long time (1996, 2001-2011), Kingrow did not come into existence until sometime in 2004.
In the late 2000's, Kingrow released a series of online albums, singles and EP's. The Christchurch earthquakes, however, shook the duo enough for it to slowly crumble. Weasel stepped down from the music scene to focus on more urgent matters of life in a post-quake world, leading to Kingrow disbanding.
However, since Kingrow has a large archive of unreleased songs, Duckman promised to release everything they had done together since 2004. This series of albums and compilations began with a B-sides collection called "Hidden Treasures". Thus beginning the post-retirement era.
