Is it Pop? Is it Rock? Is it Indie? Or could it be Ska? Nope, it's all of the above. Milly, Georgia, Amy, Alice and Hannah are members of the Rangi Ruru Year 10 full year music class (holding Amy) and are all good mates, so they decided it would make perfect sense for them to form a band. Plus, Rapid Storm (band comp at Zebedees) was coming up and Milly decided it was far too cliche for Kiwi bands to form to enter Rockquest. So after an intense few weeks (the period of time the band have been together) Timothy's Punch have written one full song called 'Mike Is Hot', a gazillion random choruses, riffs, verses and of course, bridges to various other songs, have performed 'Mike Is Hot' to two music classes and generally had a good time pissing around in rehearsals.
But back to the music.
With an insane mixture of Georgia's sultry vocal talents, Milly's basic yet catchy riffs, Hannah's time keeping beats, Alice's complementry bass styles and Amy's everything else, Timothy's Punch are unlike anything else in the music industry that they know of and definately one to watch out for. And with inspiration from bands from Cantebury's own Overdrive and The Insurgents, to Britain's Busted and The Libertines right back to The Ataris and Blink 182 of the USA, they don't sound very normal.
Neither Pop nor Rock, neither Indie nor Heavy Metal and most definatly not Emo, be prepared to let Timothy's Punch into that little part of your brain that causes your feet to start tapping uncontrollably and your mouth to start singing along.
