Katchafire Reviving Revival
Posted: Mon May 2, 2005 2:49 pm
New Zealandsí hardest working reggae band KATCHAFIRE are re-releasing their first album, REVIVAL on May 16 to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the albumís original release. KATCHAFIRE continue touring playing songs from this and their current platinum release SLOW BURNING.

After barely 2 years in the market, REVIVAL is well past double platinum status, yielded 5 radio hits and 1 TUI AWARD WINNER (Giddyup), and it is still in the top 15 sellers of IMNZ independent label album chart.

REVIVAL has been carefully remastered at York Street Recording Studios by the team, Chris Macro and Victor Stent, who originally mixed and produced the album, resulting in a tighter bottom end and a more detailed and satisfying listen, whilst sacrificing none of the original analogue 'warmth'. The album now clocks in at well over an hour, with the addition of 3 dub mixes that have also been remastered.

The repackage comes in the form of a limited edition release:

REVIVAL remastered, with bonus dub mixes; free DVD featuring all six videos from REVIVAL, plus black and white footage of a live-to-air radio broadcast and brief profiles of each of the eight members in the band. All beautifully wrapped in a special sleeve which pays homage to those wonderful Cuban cigar box designs of the past, and also provides a great 'companion piece' for the limited edition 'matchbook' cover of their current release SLOW-BURNING.

ONCE THE LIMITED PACKAGING FOR THE 'BIRTHDAY' HAS RUN OUT, REVIVAL WILL CONTINUE TO BE AVAILABLE IN REMASTERED FORM WITH EXTRA TRACKS AS A SINGLE DISC (no free dvd or sleeve).
