If you like sunshine, the muppets and lush pop melodies, then Polaar are the band for you. Described by NZ Musician as "highly infectious... surely the product of eating the sixties for breakfast", Polaar have cut a swathe across the Auckland music scene.

1999 saw them pick up the Best New Act Award at the Bnet Music Awards and win the hearts of audiences in both Auckland and Wellington.

Fronted by Scott Mannion, the other Polaarites are Iain Greenstreet, Nick Buckton, James Kaye and Li-Ming (used to act on Shortland Street as Li Mei). Songs 'Pubic the Cupid' and 'Sing Little Birdie' have been on high rotate on Auckland's 95bfm and Wellington's Radio Active.
