Bio

Delgirl are a three piece acoustic group who do as much avoiding of definition as they can. “If you need to put us in a box musically, we play skiffily, folky, country, jazzy, bluesy music with a Pacific flavour!”

Double Bass, Guitar, Percussion, Trumpet, Ukulele and Banjo all get a look in, accompanied by three of the sweetest voices you are likely to hear this side of the black Shag.

They have been playing together since 2000, having played at various events and venues in NZ - from the Inch Bar in Dunedin to the Wunderbar in Christchurch (check out “Delgirl - Live At The Wunderbar” EP ) and many, many, other gigs in between. They were guests at the Whitestone Folk Festival 2005 and the Whare Flat Folk Festival 2006.

Their debut album is due out Aug/Sep 2007, and who knows - they may make it past Kaikoura!

Band Members:
Deirdre Newall (bass, vocals)
Erin Morton (guitar, ukelele, vocals)
Lynn Vare (ukelele, banjo, snare, triangle, vocals)
