Vibrasics is a live, 7 piece hip hop band based in Dunedin. New Zealand.
The Vibrasics style of hip hop owes as much to classic funk, soul and jazz as it does to the proponents of modern hip hop. In true hip hop fashion, our set takes a wide range of musical elements and fashions them into something new, encompassing reggae, dancehall, drum n’ bass, electro and whatever else takes our fancy. Audiences cannot resist getting up off their seats.
Recent highlights for the band include opening for The Black Seeds and Dimmer at University Orientation in February and playing at Auckland’s Funk Super-bowl.
The future for Vibrasics is looking hot: They have recorded their debut LP in the beautiful environment of the Catlins, set to be released late November on Borderline Recordings.
