Whiz Kidz

Bio

Wayne Mooney first formed Whiz Kidz in 2000 with a view to performing his original music. All the music is written by Wayne with several different lyricists. Material is generally Pop with twists of Ska, Electronic, Hip Hop and Rock. Waynes diverse musicial influences include Queen, Travis, Super Grass, Faith No More, and Blur as well as a variety of current artists.

Whiz Kidz could most likely be compared to a mix of Blur, Madness, Supergroove, Faith No More and the B52's. Wayne, a competent keyboardist writes and records demos of all the songs on his keyboard and then progresses them to a band situation for the recording.

Discovered by Goodshirt manager Grant Hislop at a band competition in Hamilton there are already some existing release prospects developing.

Its early days live but Whiz Kidz have been spotted holding down the early slots for Goodshirt, Golden Horse, Zed and Evermore and are about to start gigging extensively.

Whiz Kidz first single 'Boy Racer' was released in November 2002 and was well received by key Radio throughout New Zealand.
