Mmdelai has newly released a self titled EP, the first song White World sounds more like a dance club anthem with synth and heavy drums filling out the track. Described by the Groove Guild as a mix of "Aphex Twin and P.J Harvey", I would maybe even throw Kate Bush in there.
Completely different to her first EP which was orchestral and void of lyrics, Annemarie a.k.a Mmdelai who produces the EP also, has created something a little different, intense, heart-racing with complementary lyrics. As a whole the music delves more into a dark mystery, haunting and musically very eccentric.
Moments of clarity are outclassed by distortion, piercing lyrics and contrasting sweetness. Timing Light accentuates a rapid snare drum that layers a trance vibe then the excess is all stripped away and slows down into a couple of alluring piano tunes to wrap up a musical whirlwind, definitely nothing less than striking.

Christchurch based producer/composer Annemarie Duff.
Ethereal electronic with many influences.
