Auckland based indie-pop artist Kaela merges her distinct vocal tone with nuanced harmony, dynamic beats and engaging melodic hooks to produce music that acts as a commentary to the tests and tribulations, joys and pleasures of modern day life.

Her first single Set Me Free, released November 2018 was featured in Apple Music’s Best of the Week alongside international acts ZAYN, Broods, Lil Wayne, Lennon Stella and more while her follow-up single I’m Doing Fine was featured on NZ On Air’s New Tracks compilation.

Often ethereal, always hard-hitting, her music is refreshingly candour and continues to walk the fine line between pop-power and intimate offerings - with new single Happy to Know You being no exception.

The single was written in a time of reflection and serves as an ode to the people once loved; a delicate offering that settles somewhere between sombre and joyous. Happy to Know You is a track of gratitude to a past flame, an acknowledgement of the time spent together and the acceptance of a future divided. With lush, thick harmonies that progress towards the height of the song, HTKY is a compelling indie- pop track set for release on 1st May 2020.

Written by Leah Navanua (Kaela) and produced by local talent Sophie Bialostocki (Lévyne), HTKY was then mastered by Chris Chetland from Kog Studios and will be signed to local publisher Songbroker Music Publishing.
