Park Up Collective present: Charity Show for NSW Rural Fire Service

07 January 2020 - 0 Comments

The people at at Park Up Collective, alongside Gretel, Dual, Skilaa, Smokestack Slim and Hahko have come together to raise money to support firefighting and recovery efforts currently happening in Australia. They are doing this by putting on a show at Whammy this coming Saturday, January 11th.

100% of the profits from the show will be donated to the New South Wales Rural Fire Service to aid in the containment, management and recovery from these tragic fires.

A few quick stats for you: 25 human lives lost, an estimated half a billion (with a B) animals perished, and more than 1,500 families now without a home throughout Australia, thanks to the harrowing bushfires currently sweeping the nation. As we go further into the summer season, it’s unlikely to let up.
This is some apocalypse-type shit, and we need to do our bit!

Tickets are $15 through Eventfinda.

Huge, huge thank you to the acts and Whammy for generously giving their time and resources to make this show happen! Cheers to Urbanaut Brewing Co. for providing tasty brews for the acts!

Presented by Park Up Collective

Hahko
He’ll be taking us into the wee hours with his moody textures and energetic drums, producing a heady mix of dance-floor beats with luscious, ambient atmospheres. Hellloooo Hahko!

DUAL
Do you like electronic music? Do you like rock music? Me too. These guys play both - and it’s blimming good! Come say hi to them!

SKILAA
Oh shit! It’s Skilaa! Melodic vocals and no nonsense raps over smooth guitar and thick bass grooves. This neo-soul and RnB act are a must see (or a must see again, to those of you who have already seen them).

Gretel
Gretel and her handsome band - oh la la! They play jazz and funk-inspired electronic RnB that is impossible not to sway your hips to. Get in there.

Smokestack Slim
Try say their name three times, quickly. Their 60s-inspired swinging rock ’n' roll will have you a'smiling and a'toe-tapping!

DJ RustyAs
DJ RustyAs will be keeping the dance floor vibing in-between acts with all of the fully sickest beats
