Arrays is the solo studio project of JP Carroll. A palate of heavy rock with prog influences, Arrays is
guitar centric, melodic and anchored in groove; Like if Tool had a barbeque with Deftones. The project is managed and executed directly by JP - from writing and performance, to engineering and mixing.
The new single, Dead Sea, is an evolving heavy rock track interwoven with guitar riffs and harmonies, which lyrically explores how we apply meaning to our lives and our stories during difficult times.
2019 single The Enemy was playlisted by Bayrock FM, the Axe Attack, featured by The Faction (AUS) as well as numerous Spotify playlists, internet radio stations and blogs from around the world.
Conceptualised in 2016 as further creative outlet from then-band Armed In Advance, Arrays has morphed into a mission to create without constraint, always in search of improvement upon the previous effort.
2017’s debut EP, Motives, introduced the intent of the project. Lead single Centre of the Earth garnered surprise attention and featured a music video shot by the talented Francis Wheeler.
2018 saw the release of debut, full length album Wreck. Single Weakness in Me reached #4 on the Kaos FM 2018 spring countdown, was picked up by spotify’s Rock Out playlist, as well as youtube hard rock taste-maker Spaceuntravel, with a following of thousands of subscribers. The track even piqued the interest of the NZ top 40 charts, featuring as a hot single, and was added to the Bayrock FM playlist.
