Bad Week For Disco’s debut EP, Hot Night, is now streaming across major platforms.
Drawing influences from Disco, Indie, Funk and Electro, The Hot Night EP is the first realisation of a long term project lead by song-writer and multi-instrumentalist Jack Mabire.
Mixed by Micah Livesay and mastered by Chris Chetland at KOG Studios, this first release has been some time in the making… the band originally formed in 2015 as a collaboration between Mabire and guitarist and song-writer Alex Coogan-Reeves, before expanding to a full line-up featuring Dane Purkis on keys and guitar, Don Mann on bass and Randolph Tucker on drums.
Bad Week For Disco is delighted to be able to feature the talents of saxophonist Matt Bizzle and singer Jennifer Austin on the EP’s title track, Hot Night. Bizzle is a Saxophone player, DJ, producer and songwriter based in Auckland, New Zealand. Drawing influences from Neo-soul, pop, funk, dance music and Jazz he’s tailor-made to let rip over the song’s coda. And, born and raised in the United States with 18 years of theatrical experience and 15 years of classical vocal training,Austin brought some heavy-hitting soulful vocals to the mix, channelling the great disco-divas of the era.
The EP is self-produced by Jack Mabire, with additional recording at SAE Institute (Parnell) and KOG Studios (Titirangi).
