Hannah Curwood is a songwriter from New Zealand. She has previously released 2 solo records (Sky Above, Horse Below in 2007 and The Blind Love EP in 2009) and an album with her band Hannah in the Wars (Hannah in the Wars in 2015). Hannah has collaborated with Roger O' Donnell (The Cure), Shayne Carter (Dimmer, Straitjacket Fits) and Graeme Downes (The Verlaines) among many other artists. She is currently writing a new album whilst experiencing a year of Magical Thinking.
Hannah says; "Glory was written as an antidote, to give a voice to a child that never was. I named her Glory and for the first time in my life truly pondered what a soul is, how it becomes assembled from the particles of the cosmos, unifies as something separate and unique. Do we all long for the return to being together again, at one? Are we only alive whilst tethered to this Earth, encased by flesh? I still don't know the answers but I know that Glory exists, torn between her celestial oneness and the loneliness of being alive. Writing this song brought a voice to my grief and an avenue for explosive joy. I am so proud of her."
