More International Speakers Added to NZ's premier music conference - Going Global 2019

15 July 2019 - 0 Comments

The creative director from UK's prestigious Green Man Festival, Ben Coleman joins this year's Going Global Music Summit line-up along with U.S. national publicist, Brid Walpole who has worked U.S. campaigns for NZ artists Liam and Neil Finn and Tiny Ruins. U.S. boutique booking agency, Ground Control Touring (Angel Olsen, Big Thief, Kurt Vile, Wavves) are sending Natasha Parish to share her wisdom on touring internationally while Shannon Kurlander from Terrorbird Media will have advice on how to get media attention and radio play in the States. Radio and blog exposure across the U.S. and Canada is the focus for Adam Lewis from Planetary Group (The Decemberists, Courtney Barnett, Portugal, The Man). Independent Music Association of Chile General Manager, Francisca Sandoval and fellow IMICHILE member, Carla Arias joins the panels to help kiwi artists understand the potential of the South American music market.

The two-day Going Global Music Summit is a gateway for any local artist, manager, publicist, A&R, producer, music writer, record label and venue manager to connect with, question and hear ideas from some of the international music industry's most relevant and forward-thinking superstars. IMNZ (Independent Music New Zealand) is bringing to New Zealand; international booking agents, synch licensors, international media, PR experts, artist managers with international experience and those working for the fast-moving live and digital music platforms.

In 2017 and 2018 the events sold out, and Going Global showcases have been instrumental in the discovery of some of New Zealand's biggest success stories over the past nine years. Previous artists include; Aldous Harding, Tami Neilson, Tiny Ruins, Soaked Oats, Sachi, Holly Arrowsmith, Fazerdaze and Nadia Reid.
