Eyreton Hall Unveil New Album 'Spaces'

Eyreton Hall release new album, Spaces, their second long-form musical offering out now through Marigold Music. Co-produced with Ben King (Goldenhorse, Grand Rapids), Spaces is an authentic songbook from the duo that is Toni Randle and Andrew Keegan.

Heartfelt and cathartic, Spaces was written in the depths of coping with loss and grief, recovery, as well as finding hope and new beginnings. The album’s title track alludes to the significance of space. Open spaces, space in relationships, finding space in the day – although the core inspiration behind the song was the passing of a close friend of Randle and Keegan’s.

Running parallel to the notions of grief throughout the album is an unmistakable vein of hope that ushers in a lightness, epitomised by such tracks as the gorgeous uplifting ballad Albatross, and astounding confessional track Bell Notes.

Sweeping melodies, bittersweet harmony and unassuming lyricism piece together to form a quietly heartbreaking yet healing record.

Shining through the album is the voice of Toni Randle; a talent that urges you to feel the power and emotion in every note, and like the best of voices, draws you in completely to the stories being woven in song. Coupled with Andrew Keegan's intuitive and creative drumming style, they are a musical pair unmatched.

Spaces was mixed by Simon Gooding (Neil Finn, P!nk) and mastered by Howard Rogers (Bring It On Studios), with renowned New Zealand musicians playing on the album such as Tim Randle (Storm Trooper), Mark Hughes (Tim Finn, Bic Runga, Dave Dobbyn) and Sam Taylor (who has played for Nadia Reid).

The ten-track story is the hearty follow up to their debut album Featherstitch, which prompted love from niche folk blogs and journalists around the globe.
