All I Want is the second single from the band’s upcoming EP release, due for release later this year. The single follows on from the super catchy, Get Away.

The upbeat and feel-good All I Want continues a new chapter in the Summer Thieves story, with the boys upping the ante on their unique and refreshing blend of reggae, hip-hop, rock and funk by working with Alex Wildwood. The renowned Kiwi producer is best known for his work with the likes of Sachi, NIKA, Amila, Chores and Jackson Owens.

All I Want, along with the rest of tracks on the upcoming EP, is heading in a new direction for Summer Thieves.

“We are entering into the pop realm and experimenting with new production and adding to our live sound,” says Jake Barton from Summer Thieves.

“The song itself has its own personal meaning, but this song - along with all of the others on the EP - are written so they can be perceived in multiple ways. That’s the way we like to write lyrically.

“Working with Alex (Wildwood) has been great,” continues Barton.

“He’s a beast in the studio and a real top guy. Myself and Alex initially had a chat about a change in sound and we started with the single ‘Get Away’ and decided we like where we are going. Now he’s our guy”.

Rising from the famed Dunedin student scene, Summer Thieves is made up by Jake Barton (lead vocals and guitar), Johnny Ward (drums and vocals), Adam Spencer (bass), and Izzy Bones (lead guitar and keys). They emerged on the scene in 2017 with their debut album Warped produced by award-winning, Kiwi legend Tiki Taane.

The album’s single Coast Roads received support from commercial radio stations ZM, The Edge, Flava and Mai FM and earned them slots at some of the country’s biggest festivals, from Bay Dreams and Soundsplash to Rhythm & Vines and Rhythm & Alps.

Now with a fiercely loyal and rapidly growing fanbase, Summer Thieves have earned themselves a reputation as one of the country’s best live acts, selling out their last four nationwide tours and playing alongside heavyweights such as Six60, Katchafire and Sons of Zion, as well as international acts like Sticky Fingers, Hermitude, Macklemore and Peking Duk.
