The Big Korero - New Festival Promoting Mental Health Awareness

22 February 2019 - 0 Comments

Let’s korero Aotearoa - we have a problem. A problem that we cannot fix without unity, conversation and action. We have one of the highest suicide rates in the developed world, and let’s face reality, it isn’t getting better.

It needs to get better.

In association with Downfall Productions we are proud to announce the inaugural music festival, The Big Korero.

A culmination of musicians, artists, speakers and other creatives who have had enough of our country being defined by how much we hurt, coming together to have the tough conversations in the ways we know how best to express them.

Taking place at Zeal, Hamilton on Saturday, April 27th, The Big Korero will see 13 talented musical acts come together across two stages for a day of all ages aroha and music. The day will also feature speakers discussing their experiences with mental health, and other confronting social issues in our country today. A marketplace will also thrive during the day, with many talented creatives contributing their part to the conversation.

All proceeds from the event will go to The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.

Save the date, tell as many friends and whanau as you can, and make the trip to Hamilton for The Big Korero - an independent creative conversation like no other.

The Big Korero Is A Safe Space. No Sexism. No Racism. No Homophobia. No Transphobia. No Xenophobia. No Violence. No Hatred.

Only Aroha.
