The RVMES release self-titled EP

Auckland-based band The RVMES have proudly released their self-titled 9-song EP. Best described as an extremely organic piece crafted with the individual expression of each player, who push the limits of their creativity on every track.

With songs inspired and written from across the globe in France, Brazil and the gorgeous Aotearoa, The RVMES have captured various moods and infused multiple genres into one piece with no holding back. A strong Country-Western inspired riff that turns into psychedelic blues is but one example of what you can expect in this brilliant homegrown EP.

Included in the EP is their freshly released single Vibrant Pictures which hit the airwaves in early December, right in the glory of Summertime. This single captures the sun with easy listening lyrics, clean tones and an all-round positive vibe that can transform a dull day into a skip and a jump.

“Our songs are very guitar-centric and usually pull towards Reggae/Funk/Psychedelic/Blues. But nailing our EP on the head with one genre is somewhat impossible, like saying a rainbow is just one colour. We write our songs from the history left by the old Rock & Roll Gods and what inspires us today.” - The RVMES

After short discussion The RVMES decided to record their EP inside of a characteristic garage in Kingsland which carries a very unique sound once recorded - it is also the garage where most of their music came to fruition. Miro Gibson, the lead guitarist took the wheel on the mixing & mastering process with absolute joy and a view that is different than what your usual engineer would have. It gives the band a sound that sticks far out from the rest.

Kicking off on their release date, The RVMES have a self-organised & self-funded tour of the North Island of Aotearoa, keeping it extremely humble with venue choice.
