Music News - 'Give Love At Christmas' - Kath Bee & Anna van Riel release charity single

Award-winning singer songwriters Kath Bee and Anna van Riel banded together for an inspirational song writing session in June at Anna’s Lake Hawea home, which resulted in a new Christmas anthem for young and old – Give Love At Christmas.
"We both wanted to write a song about the important things at Christmas time, and the very catchy Give Love at Christmas emerged that afternoon", said Kath.
With help from New Zealand On Air, Danny Fairley of Mirrors Audio recorded Give Love At Christmas at his studio in Wanaka. And the catchy pop song includes a multicultural and multi-aged choir from around the Wanaka area, with a gospel touch added by the fantastically talented 12-year-old soloist Matilda Metcalf.
The video was produced and directed by a local team also with Wanaka videographer Ollie Larkin, project manager Julia Larkin and Invercargill's Traci Meek and Kevin Reid form Meek & Wild Creations adding their creativity and flair.
Something very important to Anna, she states:
"Collaborating with Kath and being able to use a local production team has been fantastic", Anna shares. "Having this opportunity through New Zealand on Air has been incredible, and so amazing for the growth of Kiwi Kids Music."
Kath & Anna have teamed up with Variety, The Children’s Charity giving all proceeds of Bandcamp sales in 2018 to their Gold Heart Scholarship which helps around 20 talented Kiwi kids to reach their full potential and overcome personal challenges.
People will receive a download of the song as well as the lyrics and chord sheet for donations of $5 or more.
Providing the soundtrack to a generation of Kiwi kids since 2002, Kath Bee is much loved for her well-known songs, including Individuality and Dad I Wanna Be A Camel. Winner of the APRA Children’s Video of the Year Award in 2010 and 2014, Kath also received a Honourable Mention in the International Songwriting Competition 2016 and was a finalist in the APRA NZ Children’s Best Song Award and the Australian Songwriters Assn Contest 2018.
Anna van Riel was winner of the 2016 and 2017 Australian Songwriters Association Contest, and a finalist in the 2018 International Songwriting Competition. She was also nominated for APRA's Best Children's Song and Album in 2016 and was a 2014 Tui Nominee.
