Music News - Wanaka duo Arma Del Amor release new album - 'Onna Bugeisha'

Onna Bugeisha is a collection of ideas forged and emotions explored, along a shared musical odyssey between Martine Harding and Danny Fairley.
The album is reflective of the pair’s mutual ambition to set aside ones intuitive musical notions, and confront their listeners on an open and undulating battlefield.
Onna Bugeisha is a journey from beginning to end, sensitively fierce and beautifully dark. An act whose sound resides on the ambient soul side of electronica, the album was written and recorded at their studio in Wanaka, with the addition of brass, strings, drums and choir recorded at The Surgery in Wellington with Lee Prebble.
From their humble beginnings in 2013, Arma Del Amor have released two EP's and performed countless live shows around New Zealand including multiple appearances at Rhythm & Alps as well as sharing stages with NZ music heavyweights Shapeshifter, Kora, Six60 and Ladi6.
Adding to the impressive live performance list they’ve also opened in New Zealand for international acts Rufus and Mo.
Martine says of Onna Bugeisha; “I’m so happy to finally be sharing our album, it’s been a long time coming and it’s safe to say there’s a lot of blood sweat and tears gone into it. We’re both really proud of this work and the direction it’s taken feels really good. So much love to everyone who have lent his or her incredible talents, time and love to this project. I hope you enjoy the depths.”
Danny agrees, "It's been a monster of a ride working on this album. Taking us all over NZ to work with so many of our musical heroes and meeting other like-minded artists. It feels surreal to have this album finally released and in the wild. I hope this music helps other people, as much as it has helped us making it."
Onna Bugeisha was mixed and mastered by Benny Tones at Organik Muzik Workz and is available everywhere today.
