Jaggers x Lines Debut Music Video Release

10 April 2018 - 0 Comments

Dunedin resident electro-pop weirdos, Jaggers x Lines are back with a music video for last year's well-received single Come To Rest.

The video was shot over a single day in Berlin's Hasenheide park by Gray and acclaimed NZ-born, Berlin-based director Joey Bania.

The concept was one Gray had been itching to workshop for years. “Sometimes,” she explains, “when I get mentally unwell I get ideas about ripping my skin off. I don't act on it and I'm not ashamed of it but I do think about it.” Wanting to create a documentation of that seemed, to Gray, to be the logical visual extension of the song. “It was wonderful to bring to life something that had been rattling around for so long and having someone as talented as Joey make it work and make it even better was a dream.”

Says Bania (who also directed and edited the video) of the motivation behind the final product, "I wanted the visuals to convey both a sense of constant motion and of a fractured mental state."

Bania’s music videos and documentaries have garnered considerable online acclaim and viral success and have been featured on The Guardian, Vice and Australian Cinematographer magazine.
