Music News - Universal Music NZ & ASB Announce Sachi for Your Dream Gig

Universal Music Group New Zealand (UMG) and ASB have announced Kiwi DJ duo, Sachi as the first artist experience for ASB’s ‘Your Dream Gig’ project.
Your Dream Gigis part of ‘ASBmusic’ – the new partnership between ASB and Universal Music New Zealand. It gives school-leavers the opportunity to work on creative projects with internationally-recognised Kiwi artists.
Entries for the first Your Dream Gig are open now, and involves designing an outfit for Sachi to wear on stage at January’s Bay Dreams music festival in the Bay of Plenty.
Sachi announced the competition via video on their Facebook page which encourages designers and fans to submit entries to asb.co.nz/sachi by November 22. Winners will be announced on December 4.
Your Dream Gig with Sachi is open to all New Zealanders aged 17 – 25 years old with an ASB bank account. Winners will get to meet Sachi, design Sachi’s on-stage Bay Dreams outfit, visit Sachi backstage at the festival, and receive $2,000 cash to help kick-start their own career in the fashion industry.
Sachi’s Nick Chrisp says: “We put a lot of time into how our music is presented, and a big part of that is our clothes and what we wear on stage. We’re stoked to be working with ASB to find a designer who shares this passion and create something cool.”
Sachi are the first of four artist-led Your Dream Gig projects available to New Zealand-based students, with the further three opportunities to be announced later this month and include different experiences to work with internationally-recognised Kiwi artists.
ASB general manager marketing Shane Evans says ASB is delighted to offer four Your Dream Gig experiences to young ASB customers across New Zealand.
“There are four experiences available and we look forward to giving talented young Kiwis exclusive access to some of New Zealand’s most popular music artists,” Evans says.
