The highly anticipated, second line-up announcement for Rhythm and Vines 2015 has finally been unveiled – with US rapper Mac Miller and DJ sets from electronic heavyweights Sub Focus and Nero leading the charge.
Rapper and producer Mac Miller will be kicking off the celebrations with a headlining performance on December 29, touring off the back of his newly released album GO:OD AM. He’s collaborated with big industry names such as Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifia and Ariana Grande, and played to sold out shows around the world.
In a first for the festival, Rhythm and Vines have partnered with international music giant UKF to kick off December 30. UKF will be presenting a stage, hosting some of the finest electronic acts in club culture including Nero DJ set, Sub Focus DJ set, Kove and Dimension, along with the already announced Pendulum who will be kicking off New Year’s Eve festivities. Grammy award-winning Nero, who topped the UK music charts with their critically acclaimed debut album Welcome Reality will get the crowds pumping with their electronic hits.
Another exciting new addition to the festival is Yung Lean, the 19-year-old Swedish rapper and producer that everyone's raving about, including those from the ‘Bring Yung Lean to NZ’ Facebook page that has over 3000 likes. Coming off huge success at Listen Out Festival is Golden Features, the mysterious electronic dance producer who racked up an impressive 10.5k plays in under 72 hours on his debut EP. Legendary Canadian duos, Zeds Dead, are another force to be reckoned with in EDM circles. The pair are internationally renown for breaking music genre barriers and they will get the R&V party started with their unique take on dance-floor classics.
Another who’s transcending music genres is US producer Wuki, aka Kris Barman. Barman’s ability to seamlessly mix booty, breaks, electro, and house into hard-hitting club-shakers has made him a household name in dance culture - not to mention support from the likes of Knife Party, Skrillex, and critical acclaim from Rolling Stone Magazine.
Adding to the already eclectic mix of classic Kiwi flavour, is New Zealand songstress Hollie Smith who will join Pendulum on the already stacked New Year’s Eve line-up. With a new single out giving a taste of things to come, it is no wonder people are excited about the return of her soulful voice to Waiohika Estate. While Auckland-based band, Racing, that includes former members from The Checks, will set the night’s tone with their hypnotic, grooved-based rock and roll.
New Zealand’s hip hop elite will be out in full force at this year’s Rhythm and Vines as hip hop heavyweight DJ Sir-Vere and rapper PNC will join Scribe for an all-time nostalgic reunion performance.
Festival founder, Hamish Pinkham said they wanted to continue to bring leading acts and related content to Rhythm and Vines.
“The selection of artists we have gathered this year will continue to drive R&V to the forefront of festival curation. This coupled with the cutting edge production and aligned global media coverage means we are breaking new ground at this years R&V. It’s going to be one hell of a party,” says Pinkham.

The festival says that tickets are selling ahead of forecast, with the allocation of Tier 2 tickets priced at $225 due to expire this Sunday. The Tier 3 ticket price of $240 will then be released for sale, so they encourage ticket purchasers to get in quick to save money.
