Music News - Janine and the Mixtape Takes Over US Charts

Janine and the Mixtape Takes Over US Charts

23 May 2014 - 0 Comments

Auckland’s Janine and the Mixtape has taken the US iTunes charts by storm this week, with her Dark Mind EP propelled to #2 in the R&B charts and featured in the top 50 albums overall.

The exciting spike came following her single Hold Me appeared on hit VH1 show Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. That single currently sits in the top 10 on the US R&B iTunes charts.

“WMNZ are very excited for Janine. A Number #2 Chart position on the U.S Itunes Top 100 R&B/HIP HOP charts is an incredible result. We are very much looking forward to more new music from Janine this year,” said Warner Music New Zealand’s Phil Howling.

The placements are indicative of the huge waves the refreshing artist is making overseas. Climbing the ranks as favourite newcomer by respected outlets including Billboard, Complex and VIBE as well as blowing up the blogosphere, 2014 sees Janine and the Mixtape taking her music to new international heights.
