Wellington indie band The New Brides announce the 1st of April 2014 release of two new tracks taken from their upcoming debut album.
Single release show at Meow, Wellington, Saturday 26th April 2014.
Wellington band The New Brides are releasing two new tracks on the 1st of April 2014 from their upcoming debut album.
Kings & Born Bad are the first two songs from the band since their 2012 e.p with additional mixing and mastering by TKO of Wellington’s STL Audio.
To celebrate the release of two new songs The New Brides will be performing Kings & Born Bad at Meow, Wellington Saturday 26th April with support from local acts Ills Winter (Porcelaintoy) & The Blind Venetians.
● Kings the lead song from the band was featured on Cosmic Corners 2014 Summer Cuts Compilation. This track see's the band in full indie/rock swing from the get go, with its catchy stripped back guitar and classic pop-rock arrangement, no frills, indie band action.
● Born Bad hears the band in full studio production mode, from the folky acoustic guitar intro and rolling drums the track becomes a stampeding soundscape dropping clues of what's to come until the first line of vocals kicks in...... "I’m sorry"...........an apology of sorts which quickly transforms into catchy, confessional couplets that contradict and confuse, until finally resigning: "we're never gonna' make it"
The band have spent the last year writing and self-producing their upcoming album; this is a new experience for the band having recorded their EP Live at STL Audio in 2012.
Taking the D.I.Y approach to the production has let the band grow musically, having the time and space to write and record at their own studio in Wellington.
Mixing, Mastering and additional recording including Vocals are completed at STL Audio, Wellington with assistance and direction from local producer T.K.O.
The New Brides have been gigging their home city of Wellington since forming in 2011, and released their debut 5 track EP in late 2012. The track Record from the EP reached No.1 on the International Independent Charts in November of 2012
● Kings & Born Bad are available for Free download & Streaming from Bandcamp, Soundcloud,The New Brides Official Website, and will be available on major online platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, in the coming days.
● The New Brides, Ills Winter & The Blind Venetians will be performing at Meow, Edward St. Wellington, Saturday 26th April 2014 as part of The New Brides Double Single Release Show.
