Music News - Coral's Release Party for "The Rolling Stone"

22 October 2013 - 0 Comments

Hamilton singer songwriter, Coral is releasing her debut single The Rolling Stone early next month. The single was recorded and mixed at NZ’s premiere studio York Street and mastered at Universal in LA by Grammy Award winning Erick Labson.

Coral is a 19-year-old singer-songwriting from Hamilton, New Zealand. Earlier this year, Coral signed to Starlight Records on a two year Global Development deal. She is Starlight Record’s first female artist to be signed by the label. Starlight Records has been working closely with this upcoming artist to prepare her for releasing and distributing original music on a global scale.

Coral has been singing ever since she was a little girl. She comes from a strong musical background, as her mother Emmeline Pitcher is a professional singer. At the age of seven, she made her premier solo performance at a “Kids for Kids” concert with Suzanne Prentice in front of an audience of 1,200. During her school years, Coral remained at the centre of the music scene. She partook in every musical opportunity thrown her way, from school choirs to the annual Smokefree Rockquest competitions.

Coral experienced her first taste of TV stardom back in 2008 when she got through to the semi final of Prime TV’s New Zealand’s Got Talent. This opportunity boosted her confidence and inspired her to write her own music in preparation for an international recording career. Her next goal is to record her own music and produce great stage shows with the high energy of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Cher to present to the world.

Her voice has been compared to that of Adele and Amy Winehouse, whereas her lyrics are said to be honest and quirky like Lily Allen’s. Cindy Conroy of Starlight Records sums it up by saying “Mix all that up with a little R&B and Rock, add a unique and truly lovely young lady, a dash of kiwi charm and the result is an exceptional new talent all the way from little ole New Zealand!”

Coral has a powerful and unique quality in her voice and the musicianship to match. Everyone at Starlight Records is thrilled to have this opportunity to work with such a gifted artist. Coral has undoubtedly got the spark and the drive to take on the world. Watch out for this rising star, as she will soon be dominating the airwaves with her brilliant tunes very soon.

Coral will be officially releasing The Rolling Stone on Saturday 9th of November 2013.  Come along to her release party at The Purple Gallery, Biddy Mulligan’s. Doors open from 6.30pm, donations at the door. All must be dressed in purple! For more details, join the event on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/events/521621751263656/
